Proud to present my first color portrait! And to my amazement it actually turned out pretty good! I really enjoyed working with color, it's so different than just using grey pencils, so I'm definitely gonna use it more often. This is Willemijn Verkaik in the role of Elphaba from the Broadway musical "Wicked". She played Elphaba for 3 years in Germany and is currently playing Elphaba in Holland! She is worlds best Elphaba and not to forget, she is Dutch! She is absolutely amazing and I'm planning to go see her play Elphaba again with the last performance of "Wicked" in The Netherlands.
I also had the great honor to meet Willemijn Verkaik for real after the show! She really took the time for everyone with signing and taking pictures. I was there with a friend of mine and when she was busy with writing her autograph for me, my friend showed this portrait (that I made for her) to her! And she was just speechless! My friend said something like: "she wouldn't show it herself" and then she looked at me with big eye's and said: "well, what's wrong with it?!" and I was like: "....uhh....yeah I don't know!" I really love my friend for showing it, because I indeed would never had showed it to her myself.
I really feel more and more satisfied with the result which had a lot to do with all the great responses that I get from you guys and of course from Willemijn Verkaik herself!!
It's definitely on the cards very soon! If you don't mind me asking, what brand of pencil did you use, and did you enjoy using them? I want to invest in a good set!
I'm so sorry I never replied this message !! I actually use pencils which you can also use to make an aquarelle. So those aren't the most proper pencils to use for portraits I guess hahah! But if you want to buy these, they are called: "Art Grip Aquarelle from Faber-Castell". Good luck choosing the right pencil set!
You should really try it some day!
Good luck choosing the right pencil set!

Thank you so much!
